Sunday 20th March 2011

With friends round for dinner I only managed an hour's walk from Barming to East Farleigh and back along the river.  There's been a lot of clearance on the riverbank but it hadn't stopped a Chiffchaff call loudly from some of the newly exposed scrub.  This evening was dramatic with firstly a glowing sunset and then an super perigee moon.

Hi Adam, some good images of the moon there. I really should have taken some shots myself.

Hi Adam - Great shots as usual. What camera and lens do you use for your bird photo's. On another matter. As I looked out of my window - in Maidstone House 5th floor - I saw to my suprise a pair of Pheasant on the roof of the CHequers Centre. They stayed for about 10 mins then flew off heading North. Obviously htey had done their shopping and were off.

Thanks Paul, Greenie, Peter. Peter I use a Canon Powershot bridge camera, not ideal, but seems to cover me from macro to 300mm. Long distance focus (as my Glossy Ibis) shots proved can be frustrating as manual focus isn't too hot! Interesting to hear of the town game birds ;-)
