Making the most of the fine weather I spent my lunch hour down at Bradbourne House, East Malling. All the usual suspects including a glowing white Little Egret, initially seen perched in a London Plane tree, and later strutting its stuff across the sports field.
Looking at Alan Woodcock's excellent pictures from Sheppey today, I'm wondering if was the Pale-bellied Brent I saw last week? I've attached another photo from the day below, the bird on the far left is the bird I'm wondering about - any comments?

Were there many Winter Thrushes further into the orchards ?

Yep, probably. Not at lot about on site at the moment, though my lunchtime walks are becoming infrequent as the workload continues to increase. Decent numbers of Fieldfare around, but not as high as in the previous two winters. A single Redwing on Monday, but quite rarity at East Malling this year. Still loads of berries on the adjacent sites so I don't think the orchards are the draw they usually are in a normal bleak mid-winter! See what the colder weather this weekend does for numbers.
