Back where I left - a young Spotted Flycatcher, one of two seen this evening along Rectory Lane, Barming. Its been a challenging summer, loads of work and bad weather have precluded me from getting out much on patch and when I have there has been little to report. In Barming Woods only White Admiral has been seen all season and the Nightjar failed to return. On the flip side a pair of Meadow Pipits have bred, raising at least four young near Kiln Barn Farm and at least fledgling Little Owl has been seen nearby. Linnets, Swallows and House Martins also seem to have had a bumper season in and around East Malling.

Adam.
Nice to read your blog again. It is a shame the Nightjar never returned. The juvenile Spot Flycatcher is a nice shot. Hope your patch picks up again soon.
Hi Adam,
Good to hear whats happening at Barming again, look forward to you getting out a bit more mate :-)
